What is a paper animation template?
A paper animation template is a reusable starting combination of canvas format, edge, texture, shadow, motion style, speed, and intensity. Selecting a template opens those settings in the main editor; it does not lock the design or replace your source image.
Are the paper animation templates free?
Yes. The listed Social, Editorial, Product, and Playful presets can be opened in the editor without an account, subscription, credit pack, or payment card. The available exports remain free and do not receive a Paper Animation watermark.
Can I change a template after selecting it?
Yes. A template is only a starting point. After it opens, you can adjust the border, edge roughness, paper texture, shadow, subject size, rotation, motion style, speed, intensity, canvas format, background, and export settings.
Which template format should I use for social video?
Use a 9:16 Story canvas for TikTok, Reels, and Shorts; 4:5 for portrait feed posts; 1:1 for square artwork; and 16:9 for standard video. Leave enough space around the cutout for the chosen movement and shadow.
